How to check Yuzu Firmware
On the Windows & Linux versions of Yuzu, there isn’t a way to actually check the current version that you have which is annoying. One way you can check this is by just installing a version of Yuzu that you need and that will give you the reassurance as to what version it actually is.
However, Yuzu is just in the development phase and some functions may not act properly as of yet. In case of any issue, Yuzu documentation or their forums can come in handy.
Where is your Yuzu Firmware location
Depending on your operating system, the location of the Yuzu emulator’s firmware may differ. In most cases, Yuzu stores the firmware files in a designated section of the Yuzu folder.
Here’s how you can find them based on your operating system:
- Windows:
The firmware files are typically located in C: \Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\yuzu\nand\system\Contents\registered.
In case you don’t locate the AppData folder, it could be that it is hidden. To do that, you have to type %appdata% in Windows’ search bar and finally select the Yuzu directory. - macOS:
In ~/.local/share/yuzu/nand/system/Contents/registered is where the firmware files can usually be found on macOS.
By default, this directory is invisible. By using the Finder “go to folder” shortcut (Command + Shift + G), followed by copying and pasting the path. - Linux:
In Linux, the firmware directory is similar to macOS: ~/.local/share/yuzu/nand/system/Contents/registered.
Note that, these paths assume that Yuzu’s firmware is already in place. However, if you haven’t installed the firmware already, you’ll need to do so by referring to the Yuzu emulator’s documentation or help resources.
